Ponnie Kendell Political Action Scholarship

Established in September 1999 by the Sinclair Foundation to honor Ponnie Kendell for her years of service as a trustee of Sinclair, and to encourage students to follow Mrs. Kendell’s example in becoming part of the political process in their communities while pursuing a degree.

To qualify, students must meet the following:

  • Minimum 2.75 GPA
  • Enrolled in a degree program
  • Successfully completed 20 semester hours of college-level coursework
  • Preference will be given to students enrolled in Political Science courses, or those who have volunteered in political campaigns for candidates or issues, and those who participate in local policy-making or governance groups such as city councils, priority boards, PTA’s, and non-profit boards
