Ohio Space Grant Consortium Community College Program

In an effort to encourage advanced education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) the Ohio Space Grant Consortium (OSGC) offers financial support through competitively awarded scholarship opportunities. Community college scholarships are one-year awards of $1,000 ($750 from NASA and $250 from the community college) presented to sophomores studying in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related discipline.

Awardees are required to work with a Community College faculty member on an introductory research project, and present a poster detailing the research at the Annual Student Research Symposium held in April at the Ohio Aerospace Institute in Cleveland, Ohio.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Students must be US citizens to apply
  • Students must be enrolled in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math-related program to apply

Interested students should submit a completed application package that includes a personal objective statement discussing educational and career goals, and the benefits derived from a Space Grant scholarship, 1 letter of recommendation, transcripts, and a proposed research project.
