Dr. Reginald A. Wilkinson Second Chance Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice (NABCJ) is a multiethnic, nonpartisan, nonprofit association of criminal justice professionals and community leaders dedicated to improving the administration of justice.

The Dr. Reginald A. Wilkinson Second Chance Scholarship is made possible by the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice (NABCJ) Ohio Chapter who recognizes the unique challenges faced by returning citizens (formerly incarcerated). This $500 scholarship is awarded annually. The scholarship is intended to assist one returning citizen from the State of Ohio, in giving them a “Second Chance” by furthering their education and becoming a productive citizen. The recipient must be a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior, currently attending an accredited university, college, junior college or community college, with at least a 3.0 grade point average. Scholarship funds may be applied toward tuition, lab fees, books, or other expenses directly related to attending school.

Required Application Materials: A complete application must include the following: a typed sheet of 50 to 100 words stating your reasons for requesting this scholarship, a 500-word essay on a topic specified on the application, three letters of recommendation, and your most recent sealed official transcripts.
