William D. Squires Scholarship for High School Seniors

The William D. Squires Educational Foundation is a small private family foundation that was created in 1999 with the sole purpose of helping high school seniors in Ohio follow their dreams.

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

1. Applicants must be high school seniors, residing in Ohio, graduating from an Ohio high school in 2020.
2. Eligibility is primarily based upon financial need. The EFC on the finalized FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) must be less than $7,000. Finalists must have at least $5,000 in “financial need” on their college award letter to receive this scholarship.
3. Applicants must already know their career goal and be highly motivated to reach that goal.
4. Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited 4 year post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis by the Fall of 2020. The school of choice does not need to be in Ohio but must have a program leading to a degree in the student’s chosen field.
5. Although this is not primarily an academic-based scholarship, applicants must demonstrate academic promise and good character. A minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA is required.

Applicants must submit the following to apply:

You will be asked to complete and submit the application, your transcripts, class schedule, your finalized Student Aid Report (SAR) from www.fafsa.ed.gov, 2 letters of recommendation, and a 1-page essay. Details are included in the application.
