Point Foundation Community College Scholarship for LGBTQ Students
Point Foundation empowers promising lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ) students to achieve their full academic and leadership potential – despite the obstacles often put before them – to make a significant impact on society.
Eligibility:
- Must be enrolled or intending to enroll at an accredited community college in the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska.
- Use scholarship funds at an accredited U.S. higher education institution between fall session 2024 and spring 2025.
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll in an associate degree or cosmetology degree/certificate program.
- Must have 1-2 years of community college left and either (1) intend to transfer to a bachelor’s degree program at a four-year institution OR (2) graduate with an associate degree.
- Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits) throughout the academic year.
- Must be “out” as a person who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ community.
Selection Criteria:
- Personal history and background.
- Academic history and future plans.
- Estimate of financial costs and support.
- Community involvement and work experience.
- Demonstrated leadership or leadership potential.
