Early Childhood Education Professional Preparation Pipeline (ECEP3)

The Ohio State University, in partnership with Columbus State Community College, the city of Columbus and Action for Children, is now offering an Early Childhood Education Professional Preparation Pipeline Scholarship!

This program is for students who are currently working, or plan to work, in early childhood education in Franklin County. The scholarship will pay full tuition for Ohio residents who are selected.

You can pursue one of two programs:

1.) Bachelor of Science in Education with a specialization in Creative Pedagogies — NON-LICENSURE

• Graduates are committed to work for 3 years after their degree with young children from birth to age 5 in early care and education settings in Franklin County (e.g. childcare (center & home-based), preschools). Students will receive a B.S. Ed with a focus on working with young children (0-5) in group settings emphasizing the philosophy of the Reggio Emilia early care and education system.
• Ideal applicants will have experience working with children from birth – 5 and a disposition for working with children
from diverse cultural, linguistic, abilities and socio-economic backgrounds.

2.) Bachelor of Science in Education with an Early Childhood Education major — LICENSURE
• Graduates are committed to work for 3 years after their degree with young children within Franklin County from preschool – 3rd grade in public and other schools seeking a Pre K-3rd grade licensure as well as early care and education settings.
• Students will receive B.S.Ed. and have completed all requirements for Ohio teacher licensure in early childhood/ elementary content and pedagogy coursework.
• Students pursuing teaching licensure will be required to complete a sequence of courses that may result in additional credits beyond the minimum credits for graduation. Students should speak with their academic advisors to plan for each term.
• Ideal applicants will have experience working with groups of children in the 4-8 year age range and a disposition for working
with children from diverse cultural, linguistic, abilities and socioeconomic backgrounds.

As a reminder, students who are accepted into this scholarship program must commit to work for three years after their degree with children within Franklin County, Ohio once they have achieved their degree. To apply, click on the “Visit” button below.
