Horatio Alger Association Career & Technical Scholarship Program
The Horatio Alger Association Career & Technical Scholarship Program is for US citizens under the age of 30 who demonstrate perseverance in overcoming diversity as they work towards completing a career or technical program of up to 2 years. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must meet the following requirements:
- Have completed high school or earned a high school equivalency degree
- Be a United States citizen
- Will be enrolled in a career or technical program (up to 2 years) at an accredited institution such as Sinclair Community College
- Have at least half of your program remaining; cannot be taking pre-requisite courses and must be enrolled in your program
- Demonstrate critical financial need (must be eligible to receive federal Pell Grant as determined by the completion of the FAFSA at www.studentaid.gov)
- Demonstrated perseverance in overcoming adversity
- Be under the age of 30
- Be a United States citizen

NOTE: Applications will include uploading a copy of your high school transcript online using the application. Students must also submit a copy of their FAFSA Student Aid Report which is available at www.studentaid.gov once the FAFSA has been completed. Students would need to provide documentation such as a fee bill to show their charges for tuition/fees for the program of their choice. Students who were not born in the US would need to provide proof of US citizenship.
