Doris Miller Scholarship for American Sign Language

Established in December 2010 by Christ Episcopal Church and friends to honor the past work of Doris Miller as a teacher of American Sign Language, and to provide financial support for Sinclair students pursuing a degree or certificate in American Sign Language.

To qualify for this scholarship, students must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Enrolled in an American Sign Language program
  • Completed 10 semester hours in American Sign Language
  • Student must be actively involved with the local deaf community and be a member of the ASL Club (if Club is active)
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Successfully completed Advanced ASL 1 (2231); or be currently enrolled in good standing in Advanced ASL 1 (2231)

NOTE: This scholarship only pays out towards tuition, required book (Sinclair Bookstore), or fee charges remaining AFTER Pell Grant/other grants have fully paid out.
