Florence Allen Scholarship

The Allen Endowment is pleased to announce the Florence Allen Scholarship Program for the 2024 – 2025
academic year. Ohio women (high school seniors and older) who are in need of financial aid to pursue an
undergraduate degree or technical certificate are invited to apply.

The Florence Allen Scholarship was established in 1924 to honor Judge Florence Ellinwood Allen, the first
woman on the Ohio Supreme Court. Since becoming a tax-exempt endowment fund in 1988, 182 Ohio
women have received $121,700 in financial aid.

In 2024 – 2025, scholarships will range from $500 to $1,000. Funds are for the 2024 – 2025 academic
year only and may be used at accredited degree or certificate by granting institutions recognized by
a state Board of Regents.

Traditional Students are eligible for Florence Allen Scholarships if they meet the following
qualifications:

1. United States citizen and Ohio resident
2. A woman who will graduate or has graduated from an Ohio high school or who has
received a GED from the Ohio Board of Education prior to July 1, 2024
3. Pursing their first undergraduate degree or certificate.
4. Undergraduates who meet the above criteria and are enrolled as full-time students
at an accredited degree granting institution recognized by a state Board of Regents

Non-Traditional Students must be at least 30 years of age as of April 1, 2024 and meet all of the requirements
as Traditional Students but do not need to be a full time student.
Scholarship applications will be accepted between March 1 to May 1, 2024.
