Ohio WID Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Scholarship

The Greater Ohio Valley Chapter of Women in Defense (WID) announces its 2024 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Scholarship Program. This scholarship program supports female military members, local high school students, college students, and career professionals who are pursuing degrees/certifications in the STEM field and have aspirations to work in the Defense Industry.

The goal is to encourage women to seek a STEM-related career in the defense industry (military, federal government, or civilian company) and to participate in WID events and activities. The application can be completed at Greater Ohio Valley Chapter of Women in Defense (WID) Horizons STEM Scholarship Program. PDF applications are available upon request.

Awardees will receive a $1,000 – $2,000 scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a female accepted to or currently enrolled in an accredited university or institution.
  • Be pursuing a degree in a STEM field with aspirations to pursue a career within or supporting the defense industry. (This includes all military services including civil service, as well as careers with commercial companies that support the aerospace and defense industry.)
  • A minimum of a 2.5 GPA
  • Be a resident of one of the following counties: Auglaize, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby, and Warren.
  • All requested information must be provided by the deadline. Partial applications will not be considered.
  • Previous scholarship awardees are eligible to apply for the scholarship more than once. Being a previous scholarship recipient does not guarantee award for the current scholarship year.
